Climate Week NYC is coming up September 20-27, 2026 where leaders will come together to share ideas on ways to build a low-carbon economy and a more secure future. This year’s event will focus on the energy, the impact, and the action that we all drive together.  

Carbon Mapper experts will be on the ground collaborating with leaders across policy, industry, other NGOs, and philanthropy to find new opportunities to scale up methane data to action in innovative ways, celebrate and scale what’s working, and forge new partnerships.

From Finding to Fixing: Accelerating Action on Methane Super-Emitters

Reducing methane is one of the fastest levers we have to slow near-term warming. Thanks to a growing ecosystem of satellite-based data, finding and fixing the biggest emissions sources is possible. The data is available. Now, it’s time to drive action. High-Level Solutions Dialogue on Methane

United Nations and Bloomberg Philanthropies are bringing together global leaders, including Carbon Mapper CEO Riley Duren, to advance methane action across fossil fuels, agriculture, and waste. Among other topics, this session will include ways society can target super-emitters, leveraging data to identify and fix detected methane events.

Art into Action: Cocktail Hour

Light Hill Collaborative is hosting a cocktail hour at their Climate Week art gallery pop-up, an exhibit that features works from visual artists that make unseen methane visible from each artist’s perspective based on satellite and on-the-ground thermography data, science-based health risk maps, and more. Throughout the gallery, visitors will learn how the intersection of art, data, and science can drive awareness and action.

Turning Geospatial Data into Action on Pollution and Climate

SkyTruth is convening the field's top leaders and practitioners for a high-impact gathering focused on one overarching question: How can geospatial data accelerate our collective progress on the planet's most pressing environmental challenges?

This isn't just a series of panels, but a working session designed to surface gaps, spark partnerships, and drive action. It is built around three of the most consequential data frontiers in environmental science today.

This includes “Uncovering the Hidden Costs of Oil and Gas” where Carbon Mapper Vice President of Impact McKenzie Huffman will participate in a discussion on ways to close the gap between detection and action on emissions caused by offshore oil and gas industry.
